Next Thursday, 13th September, the Local Plan Committee are meeting to decide the Council’s response to the Planning Inspector’s letters. They have a choice to make.
As you know the Planning Inspector threw out the local plan criticising the ‘unviable’ and ‘unsound’ plan to build up to 9,000 homes next to Wivenhoe.
The Inspector gave the Councils three Options:
- Option 1 is to abandon Garden Communities and concentrate on different forms of development.
- Option 2 is to make Garden Communities work – the carry on regardless option.
- Option 3 is to abandon the whole plan and start afresh.
We understand that Colchester Councillors will choose to carry on regardless and build 9,000 houses next to Wivenhoe, including across the A133.
Wivenhoe needs you to attend the Local Plan meeting and let our Councillors know just what we think of Option 2.
The public meeting is at Colchester Town hall at 6pm on 13th September. If you can attend please do so. If you need a lift, or want more information please reply to us either by email (the address is on our Contact page) or by using the Contact Form.
The agenda for the meeting can be found here.
Wivenhoe needs you – See you on the 13th!
